I may have Insomnia. These past few days, I have been unable to sleep. When my eyes are closed, my anxiety kicks in. My heart starts racing and I try to focus on my breathing but can't. I've tried sleeping medicines twice, and all they do is allow me to sleep for 5 hours. Please help.
CecilyWindsor answered Friday June 13 2014, 1:19 pm: try turning to breathing techniques. Try yoga to release stress, tire you out, work out and feel better. IT helps you breath too with breathing exercises. I get panic attacks and when I get them, I focus on my breathing and that helps the anxiety. Listening to music sometimes enerves me. Working out helps too but nothing too hard or you'll feel like you can't breath. Martial Arts is good too since it focuses on breathing. Do not use pumps because they will speed up your heart beat and make things worse. But seriously, do yoga. Even if you try to take deep deep breaths and don't give up. I know it feels impossible but it does work at one point. Go outside more and take in fresh air. [ CecilyWindsor's advice column | Ask CecilyWindsor A Question ]
