Ok I was wondering if fingering can make your period late. My boyfriend has fingered me about 10 times over the past month and I was supposed to get my period 5 days ago, and I still haven't gotten it yet. I normally get cramps right before I get my period and I haven't gotten any cramps this time. I have never been fingered before so I don't know if this is normal or not. My period has been regular for two years before this so I'm really worried. I know my boyfriend wasn't masturbating or anything before he fingered me because all the times it happened we have been sitting on the couch watching a movie. I know they say that stress or a lot of physical activity can affect your period but I haven't been stressed at all lately and the only physical activity I have been doing is soccer practice but that is pretty normal for me. I'm really starting to get worried because I have had my period be late, but no more than 2 days, so having it be late for 5 days now is starting to scare me.
I usually have normal periods, but well sometimes be late up to a whole month if I've been having a lot of stress by the time me period was supposed to hit.
If you're healthy and sure you're not pregnant, you should not be alarmed (that may only make it even later, lol). Irregular periods are not all that uncommon. [ Ersted's advice column | Ask Ersted A Question ]

So what other reason can there be? You didn't give your age. I will say that even if you've been regular for two years, if about age 17 and under, this can be still attributed to your body getting used to having hormones flowing and the natural changes your body goes through. Its quiet normal to have a regular pattern become irregular or the amount in a periods flow change or length of time change. All this is nothing to worry about. If you are older than that age frame, its time to go in for a gynecological appt. and get checked out to make sure everythings fine. Generally, if you are not in pain and/or bleeding heavily then there is nothing to be concerned about as 5 days or even weeks delay is okay. In some cases, a few months of no period was normal and nothing wrong with the girl. For your peace of mind though I'd suggest going to see the family doctor, a gynecologist who specialize in feminine check ups, or go see Planned parenthood. They handle more than unplanned pregnancys and are a good resource for teens and those on low income to go for birth control and any thing related to the reproductive system.
