Friend I Work With

Question Posted Thursday March 6 2014, 6:45 pm

Hello, I work with guy at college and he's super cool. I had a friend crush, if you will, on him so I got his number from his roommate who is my best friend and we've been talking. We text each other quite a bit and it's 50/50 who texts each other first. Sometimes when I'm working, he'll sit with me and keep me company. He has the same class before me and he usually texts me after and tells me last minute things to know for the exam. We text about a bunch of different stuff, things happening in school and sometimes it's random, like if my roommate and I wanna go to applebees with him and his roommate. One week, I texted him and asked if he wanted to go to applebees with my friends and I, he said he had a lot of homework so he was gonna stay in. My friends and I went that night and saw him there with some friends. He was trying to get my attention, waving his hands around but my friends told me not to pay attention. A few minutes later, he texted me promising that he didn't want to go, his friends just wouldn't leave him alone until he said yes and finished by saying "it's nothing against you, honest." Today we were talking about his best friend and my roommate trying to get them together, he's been having an off day so he was being a little sassy with me and I told him that. He said back "yea, well, I've been told that I'm sexy when I get like this" and I told him that I beg to differ. He didn't text me back and a few hours later, I saw him at dinner, he didn't say anything to me. I smiled at him and he just looked at me and nodded like I genuinely hurt his feelings. I do genuinely like him, he's a cool guy with great morals and always makes me laugh.

My friends thinks he likes me because he texted me that night apologizing about applebees. I even made sure to have my roommate and his roommate check their phones to see if he texted them and he didn't. I just don't know what the whole "I've been told I'm sexy like this" thing was about. I don't know if he was trying to be pompous like oh, you should like me like this or like cute, ya know.

It isn't much but what do you think about the situation and him and what should I do?

Thanks.

He sounds like he's interested in you. There is a very, very good chance that he is.

He was probably just being flirty when he sent you that text.

So I'd just see where it goes. Hang out with him some more, get to know him, ect. If he acts weird, then ask him whats up with it. You won't really know what's going on unless you go straight to the source. Everyone else will just be guessing.

Maybe you should text the cute boy, you like back, and ask him if the two of you would like to meet up at a diffrent venue. Maybe a Chili's or a Olive Gadrden???
Give it sometime, stay in touch, don't end the relationship before the friendship begins!
since he appologized that shows he cared about u, i know that u were waiting by the phone for him to txt u back. That's okay. Just let him know a little more about yourself, and tell him to do the same.
okay?
