Toning my legs

Question Posted Saturday February 8 2014, 7:46 am

So, I hate my legs.

I'm not overweight or anything, but my legs don't look their best. My biggest complaint is the higher part of my inner thighs. It's so hard to explain, but i'm sure you guys will get what I mean. They're just not toned (for like the 50th time), and, instead, there's just a huge section of fat between my legs. I've cleaned up my eating habits a lot and i've been working to get into shape a lot more in the past 2 months (Pilates, Cardio, a lot of work on the exercise bike, etc), and my legs HAVE gotten smaller, but it's still really hard to get rid of that stupid inner thigh fat. I know it's nearly impossible to target specific areas to lose fat, but that's why I thought the Pilates would help, and...oh, I don't know what I thought..

Anywho, the kind of things i've been doing to (try to) help include squats (somewhere around 100/day), upside down splits (50-100 (I read they would help on some website like a year ago)), and about 30-45 minutes on the exercise bike.

Should I be doing more cardio? Is that my problem?

Ugh. Enlighten me, please.

Thank you!!

Also, if it helps, I'm 17 years old, female, about 5 feet tall, and I weigh around 117-ish lbs.

Well, you can do as much body weight exercises as you want to tone up BUT if you aren't doing a good amount of cardio, the fat is just going to cover your beautiful tones muscles. Do your exercises WITH cardio, it's the most effective way.

I'm not an expert, but there are tons of things on google to help you figure out how much cardio you need, how many reps of squats, etc.

You also need a good CLEAN diet. Clean does not mean eating "leaves" all the time.

You should eat complex carbs, protein and healthy fats.
Make it interesting, healthy doesn't have to taste boring or unappetizing. Again, there are many recipes for healthy weight loss, how many calories to take in, etc.

Remember, muscles are built at the gym, and revealed in the kitchen.

A clean, healthy and balanced diet, consistent cardio in conjunction with toning exercises and patience and hard work, you will get the body you want.

Also, check out Cassey Ho, from blogilates/pop Pilates.
Her workouts are amazing and effective. I built arm muscles in about a week or two with her 100 workout. She is vibrant and easy to relate to. She can smile through every workout while you're all over the place. She also has delicious recipes and focuses on healthy weight loss with a toned body.

Tone it up! Is awesome as well for cardio and toning your body. You WILL work up a sweat.

I hope you reach your goal!! GOOD LUCK HUN!! ^_^
