sore on dog's back, healing tips? My dog, a border collie, has a skin condition like large zits. The vet has said that they are nothing to worry about and to just leave them be. But my dog chewed at one until it popped open, so now its like an open hole. It was oozy so we cleaned it up, there was some pus in it that we drained out. We washed it with a seasalt and water solution and dried it and put some bag balm on it. I grew up on a farm and bag balm has always seemed to work for minor animal cuts and abrasions and such but since its more of a hole I was wondering if there is anything else I should ( or shouldn't) be doing for her? It doesn't seem to bother her, and she hasn't chewed at it since she popped it. she will fidget a little when we clean it out, but that's about it.
Thanks.

I say just add some Vaseline and peroxide to it every day until it heals and make sure she doesn't bite at it. I had a stray cat that we sort of adopted. He would come to my house with all sorts of cuts and every now and then, a huge hole. We would put peroxide on it, then Vaseline. It would heal in just a few days. Good luck and give the furry a kiss for me. ]
