Okay so me and my best friend can barely even have a normal conversation anymore. We are apart of the same religion and she almost always brings something up about it and it makes me really uncomfortable talking about the subject. How can I explain this to her? I've told her that I feel uncomfortable but all she says is that she's trying to help me.
P.S. Please don't tell me to stop being her friend. Thanks :)
Her: "Blah blah blah and that's how I feel about (religious thing)"
You: "That's nice. Hey, did you hear (artists) new single?
You can bean dip with various other topics. Try talking about music, movies, actors, hobbies you both like. Unfortunately, some people either just can't read social ques or they can but will ignore them and keep insisting on the subject.
You've already told her that the subject makes you uncomfortable. As your best friend, she should honor that and not bring up the topic anymore. It's pretty rude of her to ignore your comfort level and continue on bringing it up.
