I'm not sure this is the right category

Question Posted Saturday July 6 2013, 4:05 am

For those of you who have seen the show perception.
What does the main character do? I find it completely interesting learning different ways the brain and mind aorm. Especially in a mentally ill person. I guess like a psychiatrist. I'm 21 year old female and I'm at that point in my life where I am completely lost on what career path I want to go down. I'd really like to get into the whole paychology/mind/brain stuff. But I have no idea then differences of what. I'm not sure how to put it in exact words. I just know I'm really really interwsted in the whole idea. I've always wanted to work in a psych ward. But I don't want to be in the medical field. Ie. Nurse or doctor .. I just really want to see how far I can go within the mind and brain. And learn more about it. If anyone knows what I'm teying to say please. Help me.

The first step would be to enroll in a general psych course in college and take it from there. After you fet that first course out of the way then you can look into abnormal psych, child psych, etc and really get into the good stuff. If this is what interests you then go for it. Don't let the years pass you by and still be wondering or wishing. Good luck!

Hi sounds like you could become a Psychotherapist or something along the lines of this, most jobs that are about mental health tend to be in the Medical Field, unless you go towards teaching or being a lecturer like the guy in Perception, maybe have a look on google or ask someone at college.
