How do you know if your hymen is "broken" (I know it can't really break, it just tears the tissue and such) I have been using tampons for two years, i used to be very physical when I didn't have my period also. I have never had sex, but I want to know if my hymen is still intact. How can you tell if its been broken or not? Thanks!
A lot of people think that the hymen completely covers the vagina and think that it needs to be "popped" or "broke" when you have sex. But obviously that wouldn't work because then girls wouldn't be able to have their period.
You can stretch your hymen by having sex, tampons, ect.
The only time they tear is when you do something wrong. They aren't supposed to tear. So if you're doing something too rough down there, that's when it can tear and it can cause you to bleed.

Using tampons, using your fingers or dildos or vibrators can help stretch it. Its different for everyone. For some it stretches quite easily to become the same circumferance as the vagina. For others, it takes a little longer. Do it the practice stretching in degrees, always moving to something larger until it is stretched out.
The only reason some ladies feel pain or get a drop or two of blood is if they don't use lube and a guy enters too fast without giving the hymen a chance to stretch to accomodate and so he tears your inner skin a bit which will heal on its own, no problem.
For a good talk about the hymen with a good model to explain the hymen better, i suggest you watch a youtube channel, Sex Plus with Laci Green and the episode would be you cant pop your cherry.
