Just in need of your creative suggestions out there....
I got a disc bulge on my L5 S1 area.
Its just painful when i shift positions like before sitting or standing but when im sitting long or standing long its alright.
I do some exercise... i put on some heating /cooling rubs but really dont wanna take pain killers.
I put pillows to prompt my back when i sit...
Anyone feeling the same pain?
any suggestions what to do?
Thanks!!
The Neurosurgeon I see suggested I see a pain management center. There are several In my area and I chose one affiliated with the Medical Center my Neurosurgeon is on staff with.
Through a combination of injections and non narcotic medications they are able to keep my pain at a reasonable level.
Now my accident did far more damage to my skeletal system than what you have written about so I do have narcotic medication to take as break through medication when the pain gets to be more than I can tolerate. This medication is something I rarely take and while the prescription is written for what would be a 30 day prescription mine usually last as much as 6 months for if I need them it is only one or two pills.
I would suggest you ask whoever is caring for you back to recommend a good pain management center. The doctors their who will be caring for you are all anesthesiologist.
By the way the center I chose happens to be attached to a school of medicine so my doctor is also on the staff of the school as a professor and I am also cared for by his Fellow and Resident. They take excellent care of me and since this is something we will both suffer with for the rest of our lives I suggest you pick the best Pain Center you can find. Cutee answered Monday February 25 2013, 3:06 am: You should try these:
1)Take a warm bath.
2)Take honey mixed in a cup of warm water/milk.
3)Lie straight on the floor for a few minutes,This is the best one.
Hope this helps for you..... [ Cutee's advice column | Ask Cutee A Question ]
