what is windows 9 good for?

Windows 9, when it comes out, will be good for replacing Windows 8, which really sucks.

More seriously though... Assuming you meant 8 and accidentally hit 9: What it's good for is touch screens. Microsoft decided to have just one operating system for both computers and smartphones (and tablets I guess.) So it is optimized for touch screens, and that makes using it with a mouse kind of annoying. I've only really played around with it on friend's computers and don't own one that has it, so I don't know how well it does performance or security wise.
