Disorder: Is there a mental disorder that makes you feel possessed, and like people are talking to you?
Question Posted Saturday December 22 2012, 7:03 pm
I would like to know if there is a Mental Illness/Disorder that will make a person feel as if they are Demonically Possessed, and make them feel as if people are speaking to them, and they have small skits of their fears taking over?
If it makes sense, what would one be diagnosed with if they were to do such?
Voices in your head that keep rushing at you endlessly don't always have to be sinister or ones asking you to harm yourself. Some can be comforting while others delusional thought an non-violent.
The previous columnist is right that those voices can convince you that you are anything and everything including controlling the universe or possessed or whatever your brain makes you believe or tricks you to.
If you are experiencing this you need to acknowledge you have a problem and are in crisis or headed into it if you don't. Proceed to the nearest hospital emergency room and tell the on-call psychiatrist everything and be brutally honest about the voices. They will diagnose and treat you properly. I do not believe in Demonically possession though hearing voices to make a person believe they are is possible. If you are talking about yourself you need to seek medical attention immediately. Before the voices tell you to do something to harm yourself or others.
