Kitten/cat in heat constant meowing

Question Posted Thursday December 13 2012, 11:59 pm

My boyfriend had when I moved in and recently she has started going into heat. She is a inside cat so were not sure if we want to have her fixed. But is there something we can do to help her through the transition from kitten to cat or will this always happen? Please help I haven't slept in a week and I feel so bad about it but can't seem to comfort her in any way.

Sometimes cats can go into heat for up to three weeks. The meowing is her calling to mate with tom cats. It is something that will probably keep going as long as she is not spayed.

There's no need to feel bad :). It happens to every kitten eventually. She will be in heat for a total week, but if it goes longer then there is no need to fear. She'll be back to normal in no time!

Good luck and take care,
Bella xoxo
