Death: I am refusing treatment and want to die. Who is right?
Question Posted Friday November 23 2012, 2:58 pm
Recently, I was qutie ill. I ended up in the hospital where they told me because of the massive bowel infection my heart had been attacked. My first thought was good, it is finally coming to an end.
Sometimes death if far more preferable to living in a society where:
My governmetn condones and encourages large MV Vessels loaded with crude to come down the inside passage of BC
Where a fool can go into a barber shop for a haircut and then goes to Human rights because a practicing Muslim will not touch a woman outside his family
Where dogs, kids, old people, etc are tortured on a daily basis and their torturers pay a big time lawyer who knows nothing about justice to get them out of jail.
It is your time now. I have had mine. I have refused meds and am patiently waiting for it all to be over. I just can't do this anymore.
When it comes to religion your country and mine try very hard not not mix church and state. For many reasons this is not always successful.
When it comes to suicide both are countries agree it is wrong and both countries agree it is against the law. There is a weird law, still on the books in the state of New York, that has suicide is punishable by death. That one does not seem to make any sense to me.
By refusing medication that could cure you or extend your life you are in a sense committing medically approved suicide. If you are a practicing Catholic then you can not have the last rights of the Church because suicide is a sin. All religions consider suicide to be a sin.
Now I am not a very religious man. Basically I am an agnostic. Which means I believe in a higher power. We will call that power a god. My belief in your case is if god wanted you to die or your time was up as you put it. Then god would not provide the means to extend your life. God would not provide the doctors with the medicine or the knowledge to save you.
The other things you speak about are wrong. Just remember one thing though. As wrong as they may be god gave us all free will. God gave the people the will to make the choices they make. In our two counties we have the free will to make changes to force changes to these wrongs. If you chose to wait for death then you have chosen to do nothing to correct what you feel is wrong. This too is wrong. If you chose to let the doctors minister to you as needed. Then you have the free will to do what is needed to correct what you and I see as wrongs by others.
So the answer remains the choice is still yours. I've given you another prospective on your views. You have the free will to view them as you please. I would hope my prospective will help you make the right choice and chose to live. [ adviceman49's advice column | Ask adviceman49 A Question ]

Think about everyone who loves you they will be scared, shocked, devistated, over whelmed, sad, just so many feelings but you still can't come back because you are dead! Right now you going through a tough time I see that but it will be over nothing will last forever! Don't make a permanent decision to a temporary problem its really the worst thing you can die! Reading stuff like this makes me sad because I know you probably won't take the advice and die anyway and I don't even know you want will everyone who does know you feel like? I tried to kill myself once but I stayed strong and now I'm happier than ever! Please don't kill yourself! Please! Get help phone a suicide hotline talk to a phycoligist anything! But please get help!
Hope I helped
