Tigz285 answered Thursday December 13 2012, 1:40 pm: I would just use plain water to clean your vagina. The vagina cleans its-self, but if you want to wash your vagina then use water. I would AVOID using perfumed soaps, or gels because it can affect the balance of bacteria and PH levels in the vagina and can cause irritation. If you really want to use soap then use a little bit of mild unscented soap but I would suggest to use just water 'down there'. I would NOT recommend douching, it can upset the balance of good and bad bacteria. I would also avoid using anything scented 'down there' like soaps, wipes, pads, tampons etc. Also, I wouldn't spray anything on your knickers to cover up vaginal odour as it can cause irritation. It's the labia, outer part (vulva) that you cleanse as the article says. The internal part (vagina) is something you don't clean with soap or water or anything because it can cause infection. Furthermore, the vagina is an organ that self-cleanses. [ solidadvice4teens's advice column | Ask solidadvice4teens A Question ]

While bathing, It's advisable to use the water from the shower and a tiny little bit of soap (when I say tiny little bit, I mean it).
There are contraptions called 'douche-bags' (yep those) that are designed to clean your vagina. But they contain certain alkaline chemicals that might disrupt the pH of your vagina, so it is suggested using these is not a good idea. [ ohodile's advice column | Ask ohodile A Question ]
