Are we more than friends?
I am a female and 16 and
I have this best guy friend and we have no problem talking about anything and everything. If he says something that I might have found a bit offensive he always knows how to apologize and make up for it. We tell each other we love each other but it isn't actual love it's a "friendship love" you know when chick friends say "I love you" it's like the same thing (I think)
Every now and then he'll send me cute pictures with sayings on them. For example one picture he sent me was of a teddy bear holding a heart and it said "see this heart it's for you" but then he's also sent me these other pictures that said "we're not together but no else is allowed to date you ok" and following that picture he texted me "ok? :p" and I replied "lol ok sure but same goes for you" and he said "ok that's fair".
Another picture he sent me said "I want to tell you that I love you but I'm afraid of the silence that might follow" and after he sent te picture he said "this is very true"
Is he tryin to tell me something through pictures?
Oh yeah and something else you should know is that due to religious beliefs we don't date until we r at the age and mature enough to marry
And something else he's said to me is that I "owe" him a date so in 4 years from now that's going to happen.
I'm just so confused because he's the type to not tell someone he likes them and I don't want to ruin our friendship cuz it's amazing.
All I want to know is if he likes me without having to ask him
Does anyone think he might like me?
P.s I don't mind at all if he does because I've kind of always had a bit of feelings for him

In my opinion, he sounds like he likes you. Especially that he said that you owe him a date in 4 years and he doesn't want anyone else to date you.
So you have a pretty good guess that he does have feelings for you.
I say I love you to some of my guy friends so who knows what he means there but through the other things he's sent you, it'd be a good guess that it's a more than friends thing.
If you want to know for sure coming from him, maybe hint some stuff. Like flirt a little bit more or something. You could even ask him who he likes.
Or you could tell him that you might be starting to like him but if he doesn't feel the same way, that you still want to be close friends.
