Hi! I am a 13 year old girl who loves One Direction, loves to crochet, help people, sing, play guitar (even though I do not have one),and be this person that everyone loves to be around. I have had this dream to be a pop sensation for years. Nick Jonas, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, and Demi Lovato all inspired me to chase my dreams of being a singer, but it is so HARD! Knowing that I cannot chase my dreams makes me lose hope. Whay should I do?
Firstly I would say, as with any other career-you need to work at it, and you need to expect to work very hard to get to the top of your game.
I'm from Cheshire, in England and Harry Styles went to school here,so theres many stories about what he was like at school. The one thing that comes on top is that he worked hard at it, eg: performing in a band first and things.
I would suggest its always best to write your own stuff and most tend to write about personal experiences. This is good as people can relate to your music more.
Also, try to make a more realistic goal. Sure, one day you could well be a chart topper, but you have to ask yourself is this dream just for the celebrity status or would you still want it if it meant you could still have the same life. Make sure it really is your passion because people can tell if you're serious or dillusional.
Finally, why not specialize in your own type of music. For example you could focus on jazz or rock. Just wanting to be a pop star will not be enough. These days people want people who are TRULY different. If your voice has an edge to it thats good but if not try to create really unheard of stuff to get noticed. Theres already a Katy perry in this world and we dont need another, so why not try tons of different sounds, beats and new phrases to give you the edge.
