Condom breaks, on period, on birth control

Question Posted Thursday June 21 2012, 3:48 pm

I've been on birth control for almost 2 whole months, I'm halfway through my period and my boyfriend and I had sex. He was about to ejaculate and the condom broke. Could I become pregnant?

because you are on the pill, it is really unlikely you are pregnant. but you can always take a test to find out.

All birth controls have a small percentage in failure rate ranging from 1-5%. Considering though, that you have been on it for 2 months, or at least near, your chances of NOT being pregnant are 95-99%. Also, since you were in the middle of your period, chances are your uterus has already flushed out that unused egg and you are not pregnant, though strange things have been known to happen. But with birth control, the hormones in them are to PREVENT your ovary from dropping the egg, if I'm understanding it correctly, to even prevent it's creation. So I don't think you are pregnant. But if you are really worried, then wait until your next expected period, and if it is late, take a pregnancy test. It would be best this way to put your mind at ease.
