I am 26 years old and I am a female. People say and I read in a medical book that a girl shouldn't drink coffee or caffeine when she has her period. I was just wondering why sometimes I want coffee when I have my period I am a coffee lover and if I could have any bad health consequeces because of it.Or any suggestions what I should do.

It not true for everyone - every girl is different, some girls might not have bad cramps drinking coffee and some do. This still doesn't mean can't and you shouldn't drink coffee, I don't think that there are any bad consequences when drinking coffee on your period (apart from making cramps worse).
You can eat and drink what you like when on your period. If you want to drink coffee, then drink coffee. From my personal experience, when I had coffee on my period I got bad period pain. It's not that you "shouldn't" drink it, it's just fom what people have experienced. [ Tigz285's advice column | Ask Tigz285 A Question ]

If you’re really worried, then see your doctor about what you shouldn't have when it’s that time of the month. [ singer27's advice column | Ask singer27 A Question ]
