It is a class c drug and illegal in many countries, however it is mainly illegal because it would cause competition with the tobbaco industry. Marijuana has been accepted as a medical painkiller for cancer patients for many years, and is now also being considered as a cure for a number of other ailments including insomnia and asthma. Marijuana is also considered a safe drug, even safer than alcohol as it is near impossible to over dose. Also Marjuana is not an addictive substance. To the previous poster, please stop adding to the anti-drug Hype when you clearly don't know what you're talking about. [ bubbles200's advice column | Ask bubbles200 A Question ]
Erinn_the_bamf answered Sunday May 27 2012, 7:41 pm: I believe you are referring to marijuana, a recreational drug. It is generally smoked and sometimes ingested. It isn't physically addictive, despite what the user below me said. Some research suggests that smoking weed might increase risk of schizophrenia if an individual has a predisposition to it. Otherwise, it just makes a user lazy. The legality depends on the country. It appears that the use of weed in India is regulated by the government. righ98 answered Sunday May 27 2012, 12:56 am: Well, 'weeds' are usually wild plants growing where it is not wanted and in competition with other plants to get the nutrition of the soil.
But, there is also something called 'weed' or 'marijuana.' It is a drug that affects someone mentally and eventually physically in negative ways, and is highly addictive. It is illegal in most places. [ righ98's advice column | Ask righ98 A Question ]
