Honesty on Applications

Question Posted Wednesday May 2 2012, 4:25 pm

Is there anyway for businesses to use your social security number to go and find out how many times you have actually been fired? I used to lie and didn't have any problems, I decided to be honest and then they didn't hire me...There is no foul play or anything, just firings from little two bit jobs that aren't even on my resume. Thank you.

Let me clarify my question: The businesses that I was fired from, are NOT on my resume and I only worked at them for a few weeks. Can they research and find out about those. Mind you, there are businesses that I worked at that I was NOT fired from that are NOT on my resume..

Well, I suggest being honest. You don't want them to hire you based on a lie... It's an immoral thing to do. Plus, if they decided to do a background check and call previous employers they would find out you were lying and wouldn't hire you/or they would fire you. Honesty is always the best policy :D
