I am currently a pre-med student in college taking anatomy, and in the "reproductive system unit" you learn that an erection is caused by the spongy-ish tissue filling with blood, so if he goes soft after 10 mins like you said, that means the blood is leaving his penis. Viagra works to bring blood to those tissues, which is why some men experience reddening of the face, that's blood rushing to the surface. Y'all should see a doctor to see if he is capable to take Viagra, because he may have a condition, conflicting prescriptions, or such that could interfere.
Good luck :) [ dolphina's advice column | Ask dolphina A Question ]

If your boyfriend is not on medications such as blood pressure medications or antidepressant medications, which are known to interfere with a man ability to get and maintain an erection. Then the problem could be something else, such as low "T" or low Testosterone as it is called. Your boyfriend is at the age where low "T" may be the problem. Men after reaching the age of 30 start to lose testosterone. A simple blood test will tell the if low "T" or something else is the problem.
If nothing else is the problem his doctor may prescribe Viagra or a product like it to remedy the problem. But first things first your boyfriend needs to visit his doctor and report the problem. This is not an uncommon problem for a man his age and he should not be embarrassed to speak with his doctor about it as this also could be a sign of some other problem that needs to be addressed medically such as high blood pressure. While there are prescription medication for this in abundance you might want to visit an adult novelty store. The name of the product is quite vulgar but if you ask them for rings that trap blood in a penis they'll know what you need.
