make friends at uni?

Question Posted Saturday April 14 2012, 11:43 am

Hi,
I'm only 16 but already looking at universities.

Whilst the priority is picking the right course, I also want to have fun. So whats it like at uni, is it easy to make friends and just generally what do uni's do to help you make friends?

I've got lots of friends btw, just obviously at uni you know no one so...

Any advice/experience welcome :)

Well if you live on campus, you are likely to make friends with your room/suite mates. If not, then there will be plenty of clubs you can join to make friends based on common interests. Making friends in classes can be a little difficult, but clubs tend to be easy enough, and you are bound to find something you are interested in. At my school, the freshman orientation was very oriented towards getting to know people in the group as well, so that's definitely a good start.
