Dull headaches

Question Posted Wednesday February 8 2012, 7:15 am

I am 13 and female and I used to get these dull pains in the left side of my head a little above my ear and the pain would last for a minute or two. They stopped for about a month. Then a couple of days ago they started again. I told my mom but she isn't going to bring me to the doctor. She would do anything except that. The aches are worse than last time and I'm worried about what it might be. I odn't have any other symptoms than that and if you can help me, I would much appreciate it. Thanks :)

I get headaches like that too. Aside from dehydration, headaches can be caused by allergies or lack of sleep. People on the website cannot diagnose anything, as we are not qualified to do so. You need to tell your mom to take you to the doctor. It is really important that a doctor makes a diagnosis so they can help you.

Headache's are usually caused by dehydration, so are you drinking plenty of water? 1.5litres is the average you should have- more if you live in a warmer climate.

You can go the a pharmacy/drug store and see if they can recommend something, as they are (usually) medically trained.

But why will your mother not take you to a doctor? That is only the real way of figuring out the problem. It could be nothing, but then again it may be life threatening. It is your mothers legal responsibility to take you to the doctor. Urge her to do so.

Hope I helped
