I was accepted to the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. I've heard there are a lot of spoiled Long Island New Yorkers. Im from that area and I've grown up in that atmosphere and I'm looking to divert from that population. What do you know about the people who go to Michigan? What cons do you know of the University? Pros? Thanks
However, most of the people I know that go to UM are stuck up. I'm not saying they all are, just the people I know.
Aside from that, I've heard nothing about New Yorkers. I'm from around the Ann Arbor area and I don't really know that there's that vibe at all. Then again I don't spend much time in AA.
The pros of UM are that it is a good school. The cons, at least from my perspective, are that the people are extremely competitive and aren't willing to help you out with classwork.
At MSU at least, it's so easy for me to form study groups and work with people in my classes. Everyone is really nice about helping me out if I don't understand something. MSU feels extremely collaborative.
Anyway, I don't really know what else to add about UM because I don't go there. But if you're curious about MSU I know a lot! :)
