Maybe give some free advice about: Babysitting? swimmers0love0food answered Wednesday July 31 2013, 10:59 am: i took a class called "babysitting all you need to know". it had CPR, how to change a diaper, how to feed, how to entertain all ages and much more! it was very good! I got a certification badge and my first job came a week later. I asked if i could bring a friend that also went to that class and it they said yes. it was so fun and we each got $10! so search for a class like that from red cross or ymca and see if a friend wants to take it with you! xoxo swimmers0love0food [ swimmers0love0food's advice column | Ask swimmers0love0food A Question ]
adviceman49 answered Thursday January 19 2012, 10:06 am: First: Find out what moms real objection to you babysitting is. Her objection that, "those people have relatives to do it for them." is quite off base. Many people do not have relatives available to babysit. Others have relatives they do not trust to babysit and still others have relatives who just will not baby sit. So I feel mom must have another reason for saying what she did.
Next: In every state the child labor laws are enforced, which means you must be at least 16 to have any real job like at a fast food place. These laws are in place to protect children from unfair labor practices as they spell out in detail to employers just what jobs and at what ages they can hire teenage help. How many hours a day and week they can work, what hours they can work and so forth.
Teenagers under the age of 18 and still in school must get working papers from the school signed by the employer, their parents and the school before the can start a job. If you change jobs a new set of working papers are required.
If you are younger than 16 about the only way to earn money is doing things like babysitting. Once again the laws in your state may say how old a person must be to leave a young child in their care. In my state a sibling needs to be at least 13. A non sibling needs to be 14 or older. I don't know why that is, my state has a bunch of laws that make no sense and that is just one of them.
If you are between 13 and 16 you are what I call a betweener. To old to be called a child. Not old enough to be looked at as a young adult. Hang in their this won't last forever and will get better. The world is just giving you time to mature and make yourself ready to face the new things in life that may or will come your way.
The way you have written to us say a lot about your maturity now. How ever old you are, which you left out your age, you writing says you are a very mature person. Be patient; you have much to offer when the time is right. [ adviceman49's advice column | Ask adviceman49 A Question ]
