That depends on what level of intimacy you feel comfortable with.
Really, spooning is just an intimate cuddle. The participants lie next each other, on their sides, facing the same way and adopt a foetal-like position. It's called 'spooning' because it resembles two spoons. If you don't feel comfortable doing it, then don't. There isn't a legal age or anything like that.
