I don't understand my boobs!

Question Posted Monday December 5 2011, 2:15 am

I am 17, why are my boobs still the size of a 12 year olds and they haven't grown in forever. I started my period when I was 14. And My left one is noticably bigger than the right one: and they feel kinda hard or something when I push on them,?

I'm in the same boat you are. I'm 19 and my boobs are barely A's! Well, my left one is a B, and my right one is an A. I talked to my doctor and she said its perfectly normal to have a boob bigger than the other. All women have it; just some are more noticable than others. That part is normal.

But, she also told me that the reason why boobs haven't gotten bigger could be because of poor dieting, over weight, and even stress. She also said that boob growth can also be prevented by smoking, or doing other things that cause your growth to slow down.

As of the hard thing on your boob, thats something you'd really have to go to a doctor for. Of course, we can tell you lots of things of whta it could be, but we aren't doctors. Your best, safe bet is to go to your doctor, and ask!

You may have a problem that requires medical intervention. While it is possible that your breasts while continue to grow the fact that one is larger than the other is a medical problem that needs to be corrected. Most insurance companies will pay for this as it is not truly a cosmetic problem.

Start by talking with your Gynecologist and letting the doctor examine you. You should then seek the opinion of a good plastic surgeon. Finding a good Plastic Surgeon starts with looking for one that is Board Certified. Any Surgeon can do a Breast lift, but one that is certified in Plastics is going to give you a better outcome. Ask your Gynecologist for a few names to interview.

Each of the doctors should have before and after pictures for you to look at. This is important as you will want to see the work they do. Ask the surgeon about butting the implant below your breast muscle rather than on top as most lifts are done. This surgery takes a little longer, is a little more painful for you but gives a much better out come.

How do I know this? My wife found a lump in one of her breasts which was cancerous. She opted for a mastectomy. The plastic surgeon we were recommended to put the implant under her muscle. My wife, who was 63 at the time chose, a lift for her other breast without an implant. Looking at her cleavage you cannot tell which breast was reconstructed and which was lifted. There is not the tell tale ring that placing the implant above the muscle leaves. When I touch her breasts I can't tell her reconstructed from the lifted breast.

The fact that you have one breast larger than the other is a medical condition I have seen on several medical programs I watch. It is correctable through plastic surgery. Some surgeons may ask you to wait until you are 18 depending how close you are to your 18th birthday. This is good advice as puberty usually last until at least your 18th birthday. As I said above while you are still undergoing puberty there is a chance your body will self correct. You have put up with this for this long I would think another few months would not hurt.

During this time you can search for a plastic surgeon you are comfortable with. Get the approvals needed with the insurance company and schedule your surgery for a time when it is convenient for you and you can rest properly afterward.
