Firstly, you should try to call your boss to see what he says; as maybe, he hasn't had the time to talk to you...Secondly, he most likely hasn't fired you, as he would or should of told you that and if he didn't, then it isn't right for him to be the boss. However, it is a possibly that he has forgotten - but I really don't think you should worry because you haven't done anything wrong(:

Things come up so don't rush to any conclusions. Call your boss up and try to get in contact with him! Be aggressive like you said you need this job to pay the bills. Call him or even go there and check in to see what's going on. Good luck!

Dangernerd is right in what he said, so is the answer I gave you the first time, which I will copy below. It is not truly the responsibility of the manager to call you and tell you to come to work. You have some responsibility here as well to check and see if you are on the schedule to work; and as I said before to advise the manager you are available.

My advice: Go to the restaurant and speak to the manager. Explain that you've been waiting for a call. If you are fired maybe the boss will see there was a miss understanding and have a change of heart. If not use this a s a learning experience.

If the manager posts a work schedule it is your responsibility to check and she what shifts(s) you are scheduled to work. If the shift schedule is not posted then it is the mangers responsibility to let you know when you are needed to work.

Since you are a college student and have responsibilities for your class work I would also suggest you advise the manager of your availability prior to the next schedule being posted. This will allow the manager to make a schedule that allows for you to be scheduled around your availability for that period and avoid the problems of finding a replacement for you. Should you have to take a test or need the time to finish a project. It also lets the manger know when you need time off for visits at home.

Hi there,

Not really sure what you didn't understand about the two other answers you received.

It is your responsibility to know your schedule. If you don't know when you are supposed to work, you call and find out. It is always that way.

If he got busy and forgot to call you, he called and your line was busy... or whatever; it is ALWAYS your responsibility to be there when you are scheduled.

Don't know your schedule? Go in and get it.

They might excuse this once, but don't expect them to let this slide again.

Good luck at your new job.
