Not knowing what exactly your room looks like I would start by gathering everything up off the floor and putting it in a pile. Then sort through it. Don't forget to check under the bed.
Glasses and plates get returned to the kitchen; put in the dishwasher or washed and put away.
School books, reading materials and any other books get placed on you desk or work area table. This should leave only shoes and clothing.
Shoes go in your closet on the floor or shoe tree. Clothes that are dirty and machine washable are taken to the laundry area of the house and washed, dried, folded or hung on hangers and put away properly. Clothes need to be dry cleaned should be sent to the dry cleaners.
Whatever else is left of the pile of stuff you made should be looked at for relevance and either thrown away or put in its proper place.
Now make your bed, changing the sheets if needed.
Now get a dust rag and trash can. Stand in your room facing the door and work clock wise (to the right) cleaning and dusting the furniture. Throw out anything that is trash and put things in their proper place. When you get to your work area or desk arrange things neatly on top of the desk that need to be there. Put other things in the draws. Continue around the room until you are back where you started.
The last thing you do is vacuum you room. Depending how messy your room is will depend on how long it will take you to clean.
What I have tried to show you here is a systematic approach as to how to clean your room. If you follow the directions I gave you. You will clean your room to moms satisfaction and if you continue to follow this system every day and put things where they belong you can keep your room clean until you Grammy arrives.
