"Hi (fill in his name here). You want to go to prom?"

Prom is such a bullshit racket. Spend that money instead on a getaway at a nice hotel somewhere.

Just ask him

If he is your boyfriend then why is it such a big deal to ask him to your prom? Communicate and you shall succeed

I think you should just be yourself and ask him.
Mabey say something like I was wondering if you wanted to go to prom with me and he would most probably will say yes unless he has plans but if you are so important to him he will say yes. Hope I helped!!!!
