Do I know why this rubbed you the wrong way? Yes, I do. the person made the sole focus of their life about money. When you are in your 30s and your wife tells you that if the cars go, she goes with them... well, that isn't a backbone issue.
The ONE overriding thing you MUST have to be a good advisor is empathy.

... this was one of them. Suicide questions, no matter how trivial they may seem to you, are to be taken seriously.
You are legally responsible for your answers. Since you are 17, your parents would get the call if this person died in front of a monitor with your answer telling them to get a backbone.
If you don't think people sue over this, you are mistaken. If you don't think this can be a legal as well as a civil problem for you, you would be mistaken.
Put yourself in the other person's shoes and try to feel what they feel before you answer anything more serious than "which hole does the tampon go in?"
You have demonstrated that you can give good advice. Please take the time to bring your standards back up from the point of making juvenile insults towards people who have their life falling apart at the seams.
Don't make me regret the decision to go against the request to ban your account.
