Guys generally like a silly and flirty attitude. You don't need to act like a complete airhead, but it's like, just being funny and personal with them is good. Keep it light and fun. Talk to them about every day things... just be yourself. I usually tend to make guys laugh and go for the "friends first" approach.. but always leave them hanging a little. Don't be the one to text or IM them first, and don't wait around for them. Plus, the guy needs to have an attraction to you. That's just how it works.
