Drinking too much water?

Question Posted Wednesday August 24 2011, 9:54 am

Does drinking too much water cause you to gain weight? Im 5"4 & I'm usually between 104-106 lbs & I drink like 70 ounces of water a day because I'm currently in preseason for a sport. My weight also fluctuates a lot & I don't know why

Just be cafefull not to overdo it on the water.

Too much is very bad for you and can cause dizzyness fainting and severe complications.

Check it out on the internet. I cannot remeber the name of the condition but it does exist and can be fatal.

A lot of hickers makke this dealdly mistake by drinking over 8/9litres of water in a day.

Gaining wait. Absolutly not. Its made up of hydrogen and oxygen. That is used by the body to regulate the system and keep it running smooth.

Youre weight will only fluctuate a lot if you have lge changes in youre diet. This is the primary reason. Other factores may include the quantity of physical activity you are doing. And its regularity.

Try some Internet sites and ask other people. Gps are as good as any one.

Cheers:

Goodluck

Water has zero calories, so it won't cause you to gain weight.

However, there is a such thing as water weight, which is what it sounds like. Having a lot of water in your system can make the number on the scale go up, but only temporarily.

Eating foods that are bad for you (especially salty foods) can make you retain water and look bloated, so stay away from those!

Since you are exercising a lot, you need the water to stay hydrated, so don't worry about it and drink all the water you need.

Good luck,

-Abby

Drinking water is important for your good health, but it is possible to drink too much water when you drink a huge amount of water in a very short time. This condition is called hyponatremia and can be very dangerous.

Here's a site talking aboyt hyponatremia:
