I think that is a great idea, getting two for the price of one. One thing you need to do before you get your hopes up though is check and see if your state has a minimum age someone must be before they are old enough to baby sit. The state I live in has a minimum age of 13. This also means a parent in this state cannot leave a child under 13 home alone or home alone caring for younger siblings. Frankly most parents are not aware of this law and it only comes in to play if something unfortunate happens.

All is not lost though. If your state does have a law such as mine and you are to young to legally baby sit there is something you and your friend can do that will help you make more money next year. The American Red Cross offers a Certified Babysitting Course. If you and your friend were to take this course and become certified baby sitters you would be more valuable as babysitters then someone else your age. You therefore could charge more than other babysitters.

It has been a long time since my wife and I have required the need of a baby sitter though it is my understanding they charge upwards of $8.00 an hour. As a certified babysitter you would be well worth this fee and more.

If you can start babysitting now I would still look into the certified course. It could put more money in your pocket.
