why are you nervous to get a physical?? I'm going to college this fall and I need one. In fact, I have a doctors appointment tomorrow to get mine done. It's really no big deal. All they do is sit you down and ask you questions. They measure your height and weight. Then they will ask you questions like..

-do you feel dizzy when you exercise?
- are there any past family problems like heart attacks or strokes?
- what are your allergies?
- have you ever been hospitalized?
- are you taking medications?
- have you ever had a concussion?
- (female athletes)- are your periods regular? how many times per year do you have them? how long do your periods last?

Then they might do some tests like eye exams and they might check other parts of your body for abnormalities like your ears, heart, lungs, knees, genitals, lymph nodes, scars, spine etc.

So it's really not that scary haha. My first physical, I was terrified because I had no idea what they were going to ask me and what they were going to do to me. Actually, now that I think about it, I used to be in your shoes. I wanted to quit my sport because I was scared to get my physical haha. But guess what? i'm glad I didn't quit because I LOVE PLAYING MY SPORT!!!! and I'm not going to let 1 little fear like getting a physical stop me from doing something I love :)

Here's another tip- I'm guessing your pretty young. Well this is 1 of your many little fears. You're going to have MORE fears as you get older. And trust me, the fears get scarier when you get older. If you think getting a physical is scary... wait until you're older like me. My new fear is start college all by myself and I have to learn how to live independently without parents. Thats scary for me. But just because that's a fear, i'm not going to let it get in the way of college. I will eventually learn to get rid of that fear.

If you let all of your fears stack up, and you don't do anything about them, it gets overwhelming and you won't be healthy. This is a small little fear that I PROMISE YOU, it will be ok :) take your parents with you or a close good friend and hold their hand while you're there. It's really easy and at the end, you'll be surprised at how simple it was haha. You'll feel better because you pushed yourself to do something and found that courage in yourself.

Be strong :) you can do anything if you just have faith, hope and believe. Inbox me if you have more questions!
