The best way to know is to buy an ovulation kit, Be SAFE just because you don't have sex on your ovulation days does not mean you can't get pregnant.

I think you're talking about the rhythm method. It's most effective for women who have regular periods, but its effectiveness is significantly lower than other methods such as the pill or condoms. Plus, sperm can live inside of your body for days, so you could have sex, then ovulate a few days later and get pregnant.

Anyway, here's the WebMD page about it:

And Livestrong:

(Keep in mind that this site will tell you BEST days to conceive, because of the site's content, so just use it for the dates)

Honestly, as a teen your periods are probably still not regular enough to rely on this sort of method. You'd be better off using condoms (which you should be using anyway to help prevent STDs) or a hormonal method such as the pill. Both are highly effective when used correctly, and may fit in better with your lifestyle, too. Whatever method you use, be diligent about using it. Even one slip-up could get you pregnant, and NO method is 100%.
