soo umm my boyfriend is kinda acting a little weird lately.
He's just been like really quiet. Normally we laugh a lot and joke around and kiss and have a great time. But lately, especially in school, he is so quiet and looks super tired. I've tried talking to him about it but he always says "i'm tired". I'm not saying I don't believe him.. I mean he literally looks like he will fall asleep in the middle of the hallway. But he's been like this for about 2 weeks now. How can he possibly be so extremely tired that long? His sleeping patterns are also very weird.. He will come home from school, take a nap, then do homework until 2am and then go to bed and get about 5 hours of sleep. Then on the weekends he sleeps for like 12 hours or even 13! Even then, if we hang out on weekends, he still claims he's tired.
I guess he could be tired because of the lack of sleep, but I dont know. It just sounds weird to me. I get about 7 hours of sleep per day and yeah i'm tired most of the day but i'm still happy and chipper around him.
Oh and also there was something weird that happened today. It was just after lunch and I was standing with him by his next class waiting for the teacher and he looked over my shoulder and said "Hey Lucy!" (Lucy is his friend and he told me that he jokes around with her a lot and makes fun of her) I normally don't have a problem with it.. Until today.. After he said "hey lucy" i kept standing with him and talked to him. then his teacher came and I kissed him goodbye and left for my class. He looked like he was about to walk into the classroom but when I looked over my shoulder as i was walking down the hall and saw him with a big smile and he was standing right next to lucy talking to her.
now i know it doesn't seem like a big deal to you, but it was just weird to me because i thought he was going into his classroom but it seemed like he was faking it and waited until I left, in order to talk to lucy. Am I crazy? or do you think something is going on with him?
Oh and I don't think he's completely weird. Like he will still talk to me and kiss me the same way. After school we still hang out the same and joke around the same. But it just seems like he doesn't have much energy. I dont know what to do! I've tried talking to him about it but he just says he's tired. What do i do?

Katelizabeth28 answered Saturday May 21 2011, 10:19 am: HMMM, in this case, he may have a slight crush on Lucy, but don't just rule it out to that. The tiredness thing, that's strange. Is he on drugs?? Is he getting bored with you?? How do you really know his sleeping patterns? Are you there with him every night? I doubt it. I think that he is either confused about you cause he may kind of like this Lucy chick, or he's on drugs. Or he could have something wrong with his metabolism. Has he started to gain weight, since he's gotten so tired?? I had a boyfriend in college that was 6'1 and 160 pounds, within 6 months he gained 50 pounds and constantly slept and had very dry skin. He went to the doctor, and they diagnosed him with something/cant think of the name of it, and gave him medication and he had his energy back and lost most of the weight. If I were you, I would tell him, "Ya know, there is just something really strange going on with you lately. I don't know what it is, but something doesn't feel right. Is there anything that you want to tell me? And if there is, I won't be mad or get upset with you, I am just kinda freaked out as to why you are always so tired all the time. It just doesn't make sense, and what's up with you and that Lucy chick? Do you think you may like her more than just a friend?" Just be honest, that's all you can do at this point to find an answer. I am 28 years old and female, and remember those days. They were cake compared to life now. You will look back on this and laugh, trust me! I have been a night person since junior high myself and the only reason I would be tired the next day was because I stayed up too late reading or watching tv (this was back in the 1970's, way before the internet and video games).
Teenagers should be getting, studies say, ten hours of sleep a night due to the growing process. During summer, I used to sleep a lot, sometimes as much as 14 hours in a day.
I suspect that he is up chatting on internet chat rooms or Facebook with other girls or gaming his ass off. Or he's partying when you aren't around. Then he tries to make up for it on the weekends.
As for the thing with Lucy, his making fun of her is a form of flirting. So yeah, that looks like a problem. I had a friend in my old neighborhood who used the lighthearted teasing gambit to get with chicks and it was pretty successful.
