Can you skip your period and not be pregnant? In other words, can your period skip a month without being pregnant, or is the only explanation for a missed period pregnancy?

Not at all. You can skip a period because you haven't quite regulated yet (if you're in the first 10 years of your period, this is pretty common), you can skip it because of medical conditions, you can skip it because you're sick, because you're stressed, because you're worried you might be pregnant, because the wind's blowing the wrong way (okay, maybe that's exaggerating a little).
Basically, menstruation is a fickle thing. You can go for 12 years being perfectly regular then all of a sudden skip one and fall right back in line after. However, you may want to check in with your doctor/gynecologist to make sure there isn't an underlying condition. ]
There are multiple reasons for this, including pregnancy, but another main cause is stress. Irregularity can also be it, because sometimes a girl can go with out one for a long period of time and then get it for a long period of time, but the cause isn't always pregnancy. Hope this helped :) ]
