gift of money for formal party sweetsixteen

How much money should a person give for a formal sweetsixteen party.(almost like a wedding)

Thirty or forty would be plenty. Twenty doesn't go as far as it used to anymore, but fifty (or more) should be kind of reserved unless it's someone of direct relation to you.

I would say approx. 30 or 40 would be a very generous gift. You don't want to give tooo much money,. but at the same time you don't want to look like a cheapskate and give too much. The absolute most i would give would be 40 or 50 at the extreme most.
