Many reasons that can cause that mate. It can be on the engine or maybe battery perhaps. Consult a mechanic to point out the main reason. ]
There are TONS of things this can be. I know that's not what you want to hear. It depends on what kind of vehicle it is. For my dad's honda civic, it wound up being an 02 sensor. We found this out by getting a scanner and connecting it to the 0BDII port under the dashboard. I don't recommend just changing out your 02 sensor right away, but If you have a check engine light, i recommend you go somewhere that scans the vehicles on board computer for free. That's if your vehicle has an onboard computer. Older vehicles don't have any onboard diagnostics and all the adjustments are mechanical. Auto Zone and Advance Auto Parts used to do this for free. I'm not sure if they still do. ]
Hi there,
There really are too many possible causes to diagnose remotely. Even if we were able to tell you what it was, do you feel you are able to change the parts yourself?
If you are mechanically inclined, please respond with more detail, and I will do my best to help.
If you aren't a mechanic at all, then the best bet is to take it into your local garage, or contact a friend you may have who happens to be handy with cars... a shade-tree mechanic, if you will.
Either way, I wish you only the best with this problem. ]
It could be anything, the battery, engine, etc. We can't examine your car so the best thing for you to do is to take it to a shop and have them look at it. ]
