take him out. Go somewhere symbolic, like were u had your first date. or somewhere childish but still fun for both of you.. lazer tag, scuba diving (depending on how old you are).

there's really no guidelines, perhaps a nice shirt, or maybe the cologne he likes.
I personally fail to see the point of having all of these celebrations (ie: 1 month, 3 month, 9 month, etc.), at one year I'd go somewhere nice and do something extraordinary. measuring it in months makes it seem like an oil spill- something horrible that needs to be cleaned up right the hell now.
however, don't let that interrupt, you kids have fun.
