does anyone know a SAFE program to remove DRM from WMA files?

Question Posted Thursday March 3 2011, 6:52 pm

I have already tried tunebite, soundtaxi and noteburner and they all had mass amounts of popups which caused my computer to lag and then eventually stop & require a restart. if you have any dependable links for these programs that won't lead to these problems, or else similar programs that you know are effective please let me know. time limit on the recordings can't be less then 3 minutes please & thankyou (or else I just find it to be pointless lol). this is a new computer (it's Gateway if that matters) so I can't figure out why these programs would be failing unless the programs themselves are flawed or just designed to mess stuff up. anyways thanks in advance for any advice :)

Some audio drivers support an "audio loopback" or "stereo mix" device, which allows you to record the sound being output to your speakers. If your computer supports that, using it to record the music would probably be the easiest method. To see if it is enabled, try recording with Audacity ( [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) ) while you play the music. If it doesn't capture anything, look in [Control panel -> sounds -> recording] to see if you can enable "stereo mix" or "audio loopback". Some drivers don't support this at all, though.
