I know exactly how you feel! When I started my period, I got the worst cramps in the world and they never went away no matter how many pills I took. I still get them to this day sometimes.
The best thing to know is that you should take a Midol BEFORE your cramps start. If you wake up and you feel fine, pop a Midol so that it will be active by time your cramps start to kick in. Lay with a hot water bottle on your stomach, or a heating pad. Stay away from caffeine, and try not to move around much. The more you move, the more it'll hurt. Laying still will help ease it.
If I were you though, I would definitely look into getting some birth control. I got on BC a couple of months ago, and my period doesn't even bug me anymore. You can get birth control for free (or at a low, discounted price) at your local Planned Parenthood. Make an appointment at your local center and they'll get you the things you need. :) ]
what kind of pills? I know birth control will help. A lot! Try that if you haven't already. But also caffeine is a natural pain killer (find yourself craving Coke or chocolate when you're on your period? that's your body asking for caffeine). Anti-inflammatory meds like motrin will help, and a hot water bottle helps alot. When I was younger (before I started the pill, which pretty much eliminated all those issues) I had a hot water bottle in my room. I'd fill it up with boiled water, wrap it in a towel and put it on my tummy and alternate b/w tummy and lower back. That probably helped the most. Of course, the disadvantage is that you have to be at home and resting. But it does help. Hope you find something that works for you. Good luck! ]
im not sure what type of pains your having but mine are usually "cramps" so when i have them really bad , i get a wetnap and place in on my stomach and once the wetnap it warm my cramps actually go away! ]
