Okay well I am in all-star cheer and school and comp. Cheer. But we haven't had our comp. Yet and I have to twist from an aerobesque. I have twisted before from halfs and it went really we but that was like 2 years ago. I tried to twist this year and my feet came around and hit my left base in the face one time. Then I did it with all-stars and I kept going forward and I didn't hit any one in the face this time tho :). Haha but why do my feet swirl around after my body once I twist. Why does it do this and how can I stop it!? I ride it u. Then twist but my feet come around after my body out of control. How can I twist from a lib/besque/heel stretch/prep/maybe even a double? Haha thanks so much!

being a coach aswell as an athlete this is the adivce i always give.. you need to be sure your twisting from your hips and not your shoulders. you need to tighten your legs as you begin to twist so they dont go floppy.
If you lie on the floor and twist fromy ou shoulder... and then twwist around from your hips you will notice a MASSIVE difference and this will help you relaise what you need to twist in the air.
if you have a trmpoline i recommend doing some halftwist straight jumps and full twist and beyond! if not you can always try it on the ground... this can elp make your twist quiicker and well as help coordinate your twist. [ vikkikimberly's advice column | Ask vikkikimberly A Question ]
