I recieved a large bottle of vodka for christmas but I don't like it straight. I want to know some things I can mix with it and make shots out of it and to make it a little less harsh. Thanks so much and have a good new year.
Additional info, added Friday December 31 2010, 2:59 pm: I've tried martini's but it's all alcohol. I don't mind mixing it with another lesser vodka to make a weaker shot. I was panning on making 2 bottles of the shot to take to a party tonight. I'm thinking of shots that taste like lifesavers or something like that.. Orange juice, pop, almost anything can be used to make vodka drinks. I hope that helps anyways.

Shots, but definition, are pretty much just a mix of one or more straight spirits. They often don’t have any non-alcoholic ingredients in them.
You might be able to get some pre-mixed (just add ice and vodka) cocktail mixes at a grocery or liquor store. And although having a martini shaker is nice, there is nothing wrong with stirring martinis or throwing everything into a plastic container that seals well and giving it a shake when you are a cheap young person (like me!). Give those a try. [ Razhie's advice column | Ask Razhie A Question ]

That's kinda difficult, kinda the point of a shot is that it's harsh, there are plenty of girly non-shot drinks you can make, but pretty much the only way you are gonna make a good shot is by pouring like half vodka and half fruit juice. Cranberry juice mixes with vodka pretty well, as does orange juice. [ russianspy1234's advice column | Ask russianspy1234 A Question ]
