There is always a chance of pregnancy, It is usually recommended to wait 10-14 days to take a home pregnancy test for a more positive result. Many things can delay a period, weight gain, weight loss, stress, illness etc. If you do not get your period within 2 weeks of the date you are due take a pregnancy test.
