If I sing everyday....

Question Posted Tuesday December 7 2010, 7:29 pm

Lets say I sing for half an hour a day. WIll I get better? I mean I suck at singing but rock at guitar and I write powerful songs, but my voice makes it sound bad. If I sing 30 minutes a day will I get better?

Yes you will eventually start picking up on pitches and notes if you do the same songs over and over a few times a day. :) I know that because I've gotten better with singing when I sing a lot on my free time.
Good luck.
xx

Like the previous post, we are unable to decide between what's fact and what's opinion. However, theoretically.. if you have an ear for notes, sounds, pitches, and etc, you should be able to replicate how your music should sound. Besides, you could always hold auditions for a singer to perform for/with you.

well practice does make perfect... but how do you know you're getting better?? do you have a teacher there with you to help you get better? do you have a tuner which tells you when you sing out of tune? do you record yourself singing and then play it back? do you sing along with a song?

you can't "get better" at singing unless you actually work on it and know what you're doing wrong and fix your mistakes..

just by singing alone, wont help you. you need to understand why you dont sound good and then fix it.

its like doing homework and not checking if the answer is right or wrong.. how do you know if its right or wrong if you dont check to make sure? how do you know you're getting better unless you know what your mistakes were? same thing with singing.. you have to know what the problem is. you cant just sing and expect to get better without knowing why you suck at it.

There's no way for us to know if you're doing it right. You can practice however long you want, but unless you use proper technique...time means nothing. Consider posting on YouTube and ask for people's opinions.
