My brain feels dead. I am currently taking 27 credit hours, because I do not have a choice. I am doing a high school program that a college is holding. Where I can graduate with my high school diploma and my associates of science. Lately, my brain is not able to function, maybe because I have been having the worst semester of my life. Many health, relationship, and family problems.. Along with finance. Many think that I should just focus on things one at a time, but I tried. But I am still not able to study. I am getting frustrated with myself about it, and I keep telling myself I need to study. But I never get to it. I would sit down and try to read my text book but it cannot go through my head. I have 2 final exams next week and I don't understand why my brain isn't working. My friend thinks it's working fine especially since I got 2 weeks worth of homework out of the way just to study, but it's not functioning. I wish there was a switch where I can turn my brain onto study mode. I thought I should take one day that I could just sleep, it did not work. My brain still isn't turning on. I do not know what to do. I am freaking out, because I do not want to get kicked out of the program if I fail a class. And I am really close to failing every class I am taking right now. Advice?? Helpp!!!

Maybe give some free advice about: School? lovealways1221 answered Saturday November 27 2010, 7:17 pm: ya.. you need a mental heath day... i know it sounds pathetic. but research shows that if you focus too much, you feel like your head is gonna explode. by your description, thats what it sounds like to me haha. you just need a vacation. a break. a day off of your life. call in sick for a day and go to the mall and buy a new outfit. go to the beach or go tanning. go to the movies. go on a road trip without a destination. go to a concert. JUST GO SOMEWHERE. get out of your life!
i know you're probably thinking its a horrible idea because youd be skipping on a day of notes or a day of stufying..but it works. wouldn't you rather take a day off and miss some notes, but rejuvinate yourself so you can focus the next few weeks. than to just keep going on like this? its worth a shot.
just take your mind off of everything. GO TO THE SPA and do yoga!!! that helps me all the time. if i have a stressful day/week/month, i splurge and spoil myself and go to the spa. get a message. get a facial or manicure. now, if you're not interested in going to the spa or yoga.. you should try just going into a hot sauna, or hot bubble bath. then go into a quiet room away from everything. just sit down. close your eyes. and relax. it might be hard. but just for like 30 minutes. close your eyes and relax. you can lay down if you want. get comfy. but just breathe really slowly and deeply and relax. DONT THINK. thats the most important thing. clear your mind off of everything.
after you take a mental health day, i gauruntee you, you will feel fresh and new. your brain is so worked up with everything going on, it just needs a break. do something that makes you happy. have fun! :) [ lovealways1221's advice column | Ask lovealways1221 A Question ]
