Laptop for college

Question Posted Friday November 19 2010, 11:53 pm

Ahhh OKAY. This is a laptop question.

My parents are buying me a laptop for college, but neither of them know anything about laptops. Neither do I. I'm majoring in JOURNALISM.

What would be the best laptop for a journalist/digital journalist?

And is there any good software for journalists I can buy that will most likely help me?

I am a journalism major too. :)
Well here's the thing, I don't know much about lap tops either, but I had help from my bro who knows quite a bit about technology. My best bet is to take someone who knows a lot about computers and have them help you. My opinion is since we are journalism majors, we just need a computer that we can type and web page. And all lap tops have those covered. So I think the basics would be a word processor, maybe a computer that has more space, since we do a lot writing. For digital journalist which works with more technical stuff, maybe install photo shop, etc. I personally believe any lap top will do, as long as it is equipped word processor, and of course wifi so you can access the web for research. :) hope that helps.
