LM answered Tuesday November 2 2010, 11:08 pm: DO NOT TRY AND TURN ON THE iPOD!
It's the stupidest thing you can do, yet it's everyone's first instinct. So don't do it. If you have, don't try again. (It shorts out the circuits when it tries to turn on)
Wipe off the excess Coke, which you probably did already, and put the iPod in a bag of dry, uncooked rice for about a week. I know it sounds strange but my mom's phone worked for a year after it was underwater for fifteen minutes.
Beyond that, there isn't much you can do. There's lots of sites that tell you how to open an iPod and repair it, only try that if your next course of action is buying a new iPod.

If it got inside the iPod, where all the functioning happens, there's really nothing else you can do besides spend money on a new one. It sucks, I know, I've been here before.
